British synth pop / art rock band founded in 1981 in London and disbanded in 1991.
The group had a string of international hit singles including 22872 , 22902 , 25562 , 25278 , 25824 and 26166 .
They eventually abandoned the synth pop style completely with the album 26239 in 1986 and the band's commercial appeal receded, but their critical reputation increased as they moved to a more experimental form.
Their final two albums, 26436 and 26553 , were highly acclaimed and remain influential to experimental alternative rock genres.

a60622 was recruited to assist with the recording of their second album 25599 and he soon became the band's producer and de facto fourth member as a keyboardist and Hollis' frequent songwriting partner, so he co-wrote all the songs on 26239 , 26436 and 26553 . Although a major contributor to the band's studio output, a60622 did not regularly play with the touring band, and was absent from the band's publicity material.
